Each year, the Cultural Services Department of the French Embassy in the U.S. offers a number of grants to qualified
primary and secondary school teachers of French looking to enhance their knowledge of French culture and improve
their language and teaching skills.


OVERVIEW
Each grant includes:

- Tuition and training fees for 2 weeks

- One round-trip train ticket from Paris to the destination city

Roundtrip airfare is NOT included.
Program participants also receive an allowance to help with a portion of their accommodation and food expenses.

IMPORTANT: This program is only for teachers assigned to teach in French immersion programs.


ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be:

- Full-time teachers in accredited U.S. schools

- Assigned to teach the French language and/or French culture in grades K-12

- U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. (French citizens are not eligible to apply)

- Highly proficient in French (C1 level*)

Applicants must not have received a grant from the French government within the last 3 years.

* Language users at level C1 are independent. They can express themselves fluently and spontaneously. They have a large vocabulary and can
choose the appropriate expression to introduce their comments. They can produce clear, well-structured discourse without hesitation and which
shows controlled use of structures.
