"LIFE SCIENCES: inventing - creating - having fun"
Grants from 1,000 euros to 3,000 euros per project
The Office of Science & Technology of the Embassy of France in the United States of America will financially support French teams which participate in scientific competitions, contests or games organized by the United States and specializing in the Life Sciences.
The Office of Science & Technology hopes this program will encourage students and researchers to participate in exchanges with the United States, initiate collaborations between French and American scientists and promote participation in the sciences.
HOW TO SUBMIT A PROJECT
The electronic application (pdf) should be no more than 4 pages in length:
- Title of the project, name/address of the team leader - Presentation of the competition (1/2 page maximum) - List of team members, including affiliations (1/2 page maximum)
Page 2 : - Description of the project (1 page maximum).
Page 3: - Budget (1 page maximum)
Page 4: - Any other relevant information: implications for further research, potential for fostering long-term relationships between researchers, past successes… ) (1 page maximum)
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
At least half of a team’s members must be French and the affiliations of these members must be clearly mentioned. French participants competing individually are also eligible. Grants will be awarded to teams wishing to compete (registration fees, etc.) or teams who have already competed (rcompensation for their expenses). Only one grant will be awarded per team per project.
Participants are eligible to compete in any competition specializing in the Life Sciences (example : iGEM, World Cell Race). Competitions must be affiliated in some way with the United States (American organization or award ceremony in the United States).
Applicants will be evaluated by the Office of Science & Technology of the Embassy of France in the United States. Between five and ten applicants will be selected to receive a grant for an amount between 1,000 to 3,000 euros. The results will be announced one month after the deadline for applications.
