Counselor for Science and Technology and Consul general of France in Los Angeles visit San Diego, CA [fr]

Ms. Minh-Hà Pham, Counselor for Science and Technology at the Embassy of France in Washington D.C., and Mr. Axel Cruau, Consul general of France in Los Angeles, visited San Diego, CA, to attend the 2014 BIO International Convention, 23-26 June, 2014.

On this occasion, they visited the Janssen Labs incubator in Torrey Pines, an innovation center in life sciences of the pharmaceutical division of Johnson & Johnson, currently incubated some thirty young innovative companies.

The Counselor and the Consul general also attended a partnership agreement signature between French competitiveness cluster Eurobiomed and American biocluster Biocom.

Eurobiomed, competitiveness cluster founded in 2006, aims at developing the healthcare industry in Languedoc-Roussillon and Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur (PACA) regions and currently brings together 220 members including 156 companies.
Southern California equivalent based in San Diego, Biocom is the world second largest biocluster with over 500 companies and a major collaboration network open on Asia, an up-and-coming continent.
This partnership agreement strengthens the actions undertaken by Eurobiomed and its partners for over two years aimed at supporting international development for companies in California and in the PACA region.

In the margins of the Fast-Track R&D organized par UBIFRANCE, satellite event of the BIO Convention, the Counselor and the Consul general met with numerous French and American personalities in biotechnologies and innovation fields, thereby strengthening furthermore the ties between our two countries in these areas.
